As with 9 carat gold, 22ct gold is also tested and graded at an Assay office.
If the gold contains 91.6% Fine gold then it is deemed to be 22ct gold.
It will then be stamped by the Assay Office with 916.
22ct gold is deemed as one of the best quality gold, as its content of pure gold is so high 91.6%. It is the preferred choice of gold for some foreign countries.
